War
I sit here in the trenches
My friends by my side
But the war is always fierce
And more and more have died
I write this now before I die
Many people have
The enemy is closing in
And I do not have much time
As my time comes to a close
The pain I cannot bear
This may be a welcome end
To my eternal despair
